Data & Privacy

What data is stored?
Buy Me Later stores the product pause information you choose to add, such as product names, prices, optional links, optional store names, optional notes or reasons, optional photos, pause dates, reflection answers, decisions, purchase status, settings, and local stats.
Where is my data stored?
Your saved products, notes, links, photos, reflection answers, decisions, prices and pause details are stored locally on your device. Buy Me Later does not operate a backend for this content. If you allow tracking when iOS asks, the Meta SDK may send install, activation, identifier, technical app/device and connection data directly from the app to Meta for measuring our own advertising. If you do not allow tracking, the Meta SDK is not started and no data from Buy Me Later is sent to Meta. Your private shopping content is never sent to Meta.
Can I export my data?
Yes. The app allows or is intended to allow export of local app data as a JSON file.
What is included in export?
The JSON export may include settings, items, prices, product links if added, stores, reasons or notes, pause dates, decisions, reflection answers, purchase prices, stats summary, and monetization summary such as free attempts used and Premium state.
Are photos included?
No. Product photo files are not included in the current JSON export. The export may indicate whether a photo exists for an item.
What happens when I delete local data?
Deleting local data is intended to delete local products, pauses, product photos, decisions, reflections, stats, and local notifications from this device. It does not delete advertising-measurement information that Meta already received while tracking was allowed.
How do I stop Meta advertising measurement?
Choose "Ask App Not to Track" when iOS asks, or change the permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking (turn Buy Me Later off there, or turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track"). If you turn tracking off after allowing it, the app stops Meta measurement when you next return to it, and from the next launch the Meta SDK is not started at all. Refusing tracking does not remove the three free pauses or Premium features. Turning tracking off does not erase information Meta already received; see "How do I request access or deletion?".
How do I request access or deletion?
For information connected with Buy Me Later, email support@buymelater.com. We will assess the request and contact Meta where the available tools and applicable law allow. Meta also provides privacy controls and request channels in its Privacy Policy. We do not promise that local deletion can identify or erase data held by Meta.
Does deleting local data cancel Premium?
No. Deleting local app data does not cancel an Apple subscription, does not remove a StoreKit purchase entitlement, and does not affect purchases associated with your Apple Account.
Does deleting local data reset free attempts?
No. Used free pause attempts are not intended to reset when local data is deleted.
Can I restore purchases?
Yes. Use Restore Purchases in the app to restore eligible purchases associated with the Apple Account used for purchase.
What happens if I reinstall the app?
You may be able to restore eligible purchases through Apple. Local product history may not be restored unless you previously exported it, imported it where available, or a future backup feature is added.
