Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Buy Me Later handles information when you use the Buy Me Later mobile application and our website at https://buymelater.com/.

Buy Me Later is operated by FOP Kuper Mykola Andriiovych, an individual entrepreneur registered in Ukraine, located at Parashchuka St. 18, Apt. 26, Terebovlia, Ternopil Oblast, Ukraine 48101. You can contact us at support@buymelater.com.

1. Summary

Buy Me Later is designed as a local-first app. We do not require an account and do not operate a backend for the shopping-pause content you create. Your saved products, prices, links, store names, notes, photos, reflection answers, decisions and pause details stay on your device and are never sent to Buy Me Later servers or to Meta.

The app includes the Meta (Facebook) SDK for advertising measurement, described in section 11. It is started only if you allow tracking when iOS asks. If you do not allow tracking, the Meta SDK is not started and no data from Buy Me Later is sent to Meta. We do not use third-party analytics SDKs and we do not sell personal data.

2. Information stored locally on your device

When you use the app, you may choose to create product pause entries. Depending on what you enter, the app may store the following information locally on your device:

  • product name

  • price

  • optional product link or URL

  • optional store name

  • optional reason or note

  • optional product photo

  • pause duration and pause dates

  • reflection answers

  • decision status, such as do not buy, delay more, add to wishlist, or mark as purchased

  • purchase price if you add it

  • stats such as potential money kept or potential spending avoided based on your own entries

  • settings and monetization state such as free pause attempts used and Premium state

in the current MVP, this information is stored locally and is not sent to Buy Me Later servers because there is no backend in the MVP.

3. Product photos

If you add a product photo, the photo is stored locally in app-controlled storage on your device. The current MVP does not upload product photos to Buy Me Later servers. Product photo files are not included in the current JSON export. The export may indicate whether a product entry has a photo.

4. Camera, Photo Library, and Notifications

The app may request access to:

  • Camera - so you can take a product photo if you choose.

  • Photo Library - so you can select a product photo if you choose.

  • Notifications - so the app can remind you when a pause period ends.

These permissions are optional at the operating system level. If you do not allow a permission, the related feature may not work, but you can still use other parts of the app where available.

5. Local notifications

Buy Me Later schedules local notifications on your device to remind you when a pause period ends. The current MVP does not use a push notification server. Notification delivery depends on iOS settings and system behavior, and we cannot guarantee that a notification will be delivered at an exact time.

6. Purchases and StoreKit

Premium purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit / In-App Purchases. Buy Me Later does not collect or process your credit card number, payment card security code, or Apple Account payment credentials. Apple may provide purchase status or entitlement information that allows the app to determine whether you have an active trial, active subscription, Premium One-Time Unlock, or restored purchase.

Refund requests and billing issues for Apple In-App Purchases are generally handled by Apple. We may help you understand how to restore purchases or request support, but we do not control Apple refund decisions.

7. No account and no account deletion in current MVP

The current MVP does not require account creation, login, or a user profile. Because there is no account in the current MVP, there is no account deletion flow. The app provides local data deletion for app data stored on your device.

8. Local data export

The app allows or is intended to allow you to export local app data as JSON. The export may include settings, items, prices, product links if added, stores, notes, pause dates, decisions, reflection answers, purchase prices, stats summary, and monetization summary such as free attempts used and Premium state. Product photo files are not included in the current JSON export.

9. Local data deletion

When you delete local data in the app, the app is intended to delete local products, pauses, product photos, decisions, reflections, stats, and local notifications from that device. Deleting local data does not cancel an Apple subscription, does not remove StoreKit purchase entitlement, and does not restore used free pause attempts.

10. Website

The public website at https://buymelater.com/ is intended to be a static website with contact information, legal pages, and an App Store link. It is not intended to use cookies, analytics, contact forms, newsletter signup, or tracking technologies in the MVP. If this changes, this Privacy Policy must be updated before the change is launched.

11. Meta SDK, advertising measurement, and tracking

Buy Me Later includes the Meta SDK (FBSDKCoreKit, provided by Meta Platforms) to attribute app installs to our own advertising on Meta services such as Facebook and Instagram, to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns, and to optimise them. It is the only advertising or attribution SDK in the app. The app does not show third-party advertising.

When you open the app for the first time, iOS shows the App Tracking Transparency request. Until you answer it, the Meta SDK is not started and nothing is sent to Meta.

If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", or if tracking is restricted on your device (for example because "Allow Apps to Request to Track" is off or a device-management profile restricts it), the Meta SDK is not started and no data from Buy Me Later is sent to Meta. In that case the app does not use the advertising identifier, any other identifier, or device fingerprinting for advertising measurement.

If you choose "Allow", the Meta SDK is started and may send Meta: an app-install event, once per installation; app activation and deactivation events when the app is opened and sent to the background, including the session length, the number of session interruptions, a session identifier and a launch-source category (for example whether the app was opened from Safari); the Apple advertising identifier (IDFA); an identifier generated by the SDK for this installation of the app; the installation time; technical information about the app and device: our Meta App ID, the app's bundle identifier, app version and build, iOS version, CPU architecture, device language and time zone, mobile-carrier availability, screen size and density, and the app's own URL scheme; the state of the tracking permission and of the SDK's own settings; and the IP address that is visible to Meta when your device connects to its servers. The SDK may also send Meta small diagnostic events about its own configuration. Meta may use this information to match your installation to an ad you saw and to combine it with information Meta holds about you from other apps and websites, in accordance with Meta's Privacy Policy. We ask Meta to apply its Limited Data Use processing option.

What is never sent to Meta, whatever you choose: the content you create in the app (products, prices, links, store names, notes, photos, reflection answers, decisions, pause details and statistics); your purchases, subscription, trial or Premium status; and any contact details, which the app does not collect. We log no custom events to Meta. Automatic purchase-event logging, Automatic Advanced Matching and codeless event collection are not used.

Separately from the Meta SDK and from your tracking choice, Apple's SKAdNetwork / AdAttributionKit framework may send Meta an aggregated, privacy-preserving attribution signal about app installs. That signal is generated by Apple, does not identify you or your device, and does not depend on the Meta SDK being started.

You can change the tracking permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, by turning Buy Me Later off or on there, or by turning off "Allow Apps to Request to Track". If you turn tracking off after allowing it, the app stops Meta measurement when you next return to it: the SDK's automatic events and its use of the advertising identifier are switched off, and from the next launch the SDK is not started at all. If you turn tracking on later, measurement starts when you next return to the app. Changing the permission or deleting local app data does not delete information Meta has already received. Refusing tracking does not limit the app in any way: the free pauses, Premium and every other feature work the same regardless of your choice.

The tracking permission is the system control Apple provides for this processing. Depending on where you live, additional rights or requirements may apply under local law; see section 14.

12. Crash diagnostics

Crash diagnostics are limited to Apple diagnostics / App Store Connect crash reports. The Meta SDK contains crash and error reporting features of its own. When the SDK runs (only after you allow tracking), our Limited Data Use configuration keeps it from uploading them, and we have observed no such uploads. If we add a third-party crash reporting SDK, such as Sentry, Firebase Crashlytics, or a similar provider, or if the Meta SDK's diagnostics are enabled, we will update this Privacy Policy and the App Store privacy answers before release.

13. Children

Buy Me Later is not directed to children. The recommended minimum age for the app is 16+. If you are under the minimum age required in your country to use apps or digital services without parental consent, you should use the app only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

14. International users and your rights

We are based in Ukraine and may make the app available internationally. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal data, and to withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. Contact support@buymelater.com to exercise these rights. Some app data is stored only on your device, so we cannot access or retrieve it for you.

15. Your choices

  • You can choose what product information to enter.

  • You can choose whether to add photos, links, notes, or reflection answers.

  • You can allow or refuse tracking when iOS asks, and change that choice later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking (see section 11).

  • You can disable notifications in iOS settings.

  • You can export local app data where the export feature is available.

  • You can delete local app data from your device.

  • You can restore eligible purchases through Apple using Restore Purchases.

17. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, website, data practices, legal requirements, or vendors change. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app or on the website.
